According to state law, the county can't review or change the 2025 estimated market value after the Special County Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting. This meeting was held on June 9, 2025. Appeals received after this date are for the upcoming 2026 assessment.

Collect facts to show your case
Show that the market value of your property is wrong by collecting recent appraisals or recent sales of like property.
Contact Assessing Services
Talk to county staff to review your information and talk about your value or classification.

Attend an appeal meeting (held once a year)
If your questions or concerns are not resolved after discussing with your assessor, you may bring your case to the Special County Board of Appeal and Equalization. The meeting is held in June each year. Call 651-438-4200 by May 1 for more information.

Minnesota Tax Court
Another option is to petition the Minnesota Tax Court. Tax petitions can be filed after you receive your Notice of Valuation and before April 30 of year taxes are payable. Contact the Minnesota Tax Court at 651-539-3260.
